How does the process of application work?
Fill out & Submit the complete Application Form for the Usul-ud-Din Intensive Program, and be sure to include all required documents.

2) Submit Application Fee (ZAR 250).
Applicants will be contacted in due time for a follow-up personal interview – preferably in-person, or via Skype. Interviews are conducted to get a better sense of the applicants skills, level of education, ambitions & intentions.
Thereafter the student will receive a letter to inform them of their application status. A standard tuition deposit of ZAR 1000 is required upfront to secure one’s spot in the program.
What are the admission requirements?
a) 12th grade education (matric/diploma or GED) or equivalent
b) Proficiency in English
c) at least 16 years of age, mature and motivated
d) Successful personal interview. International student interviews will be conducted via Skype (where possible).
e) Strong desire to study the Islamic sciences as well as potential to serve the community upon completion of the program
How much are the tuition fees for the Usul-ud-Din Intensive, and what are the Madina Institute’s banking details?
Tuition Fees for the year are ZAR 36,000 (or ZAR 3,000 per month). Text books are not included in this fee.
Monies may be directly transferred to the Madina Institute Bank Account.

What are the program dates?
The Usul-ud-Din Intensive program runs from January to mid-December every year.
Is the Madina Institute accredited?
The Madina Institute is registered with the South African Department of Higher Learning, No. H/PR730/#001CAN.
Work towards full accreditation is currently underway. More information on this coming soon, insha’Allah.
Will the institute provide students with suitable accommodation?
Students accepted to the program requiring accommodation in Cape Town must request and complete the Accommodation Requirements form.
The Madina Institute will facilitate for these needs accordingly and be in close contact with the student to ensure all their needs are met, insha’Allah. Accommodation will be conveniently close to the campus and available on request.
Standard rates will be forwarded to students. Keep in mind that rates vary, depending on the type and location of accommodation requested/needed by the student.
How do I apply for financial support/bursary? What are the deadlines for submitting the applications?
After applying & acceptance into the program, students requiring accommodation in Cape Town should request and complete a Accommodation Requirements form.
After applying & acceptance into the program, students requiring financial assistance may receive & complete the Bursary Application form and provide all information requested that would support the application.
Is there Medical Insurance available for students?
Yes. The Madina Institute has partnered with Vision Medical Suite of Cape Town to offer free & low-cost basic day-to-day medical care for students. However, it is advised that a student obtain more comprehensive personal medical insurance either upon arrival to Cape Town, or from their country of origin. How do I go about applying for a Visa to South Africa?
Please not that Visa application processes & conditions do vary according to country of origin and personal circumstances. Upon acceptance to the program, the student should contact their local embassy for Visa requirements. At any rate, the Madina Institute will do everything needed from our end to facilitate this process, whether by providing a letter as proof of acceptance to the school/institute, application number from the Department of Higher Education (South Africa), or other documentation as necessary, insha’Allah.
Does the institute cater for female students?
Yes. The Madina Institute views Islamic education as a priority for all Muslims and as such will ensure that sisters are comfortable and feel welcome at our institute. Single female students coming from out of town will also have options for comfortable, secure housing accommodations made available.
